Assigned to an Insurance client to work with their Azure Boards Working Group to assist them in:- Leading the Azure Boards adoption program. - Clarifying how the organisation's projects and works streams are structured and organised in reality, across all IT teams.- Coming up with a set of requirements for the tooling to map with real world usage.- Customising and tailoring Azure Boards accordingly.- Documenting standards and processes.- Training all staff and ensuring they know where to go for further help.

Joined as a Project Manager within the FedEx Express Platform Engineering team.We are a very large team, composed of 7 capabilities and over 70 people, which hosts the Cloud Native Platform (CNP), enabling FedEx to host the next generation of cloud native applications on Azure. Our CNP product, hosts and supports IaaS, PaaS and Data landing zones for cloud apps and services.Notable achievements:• He led the migration of a business-critical, high value cloud application, away from a legacy vendor to CNP / Azure, where risk-management was paramount. He was able to see the project to completion, with no major incidents or impact to business, having forged strong working relationships with the many key stakeholders and having gained a strong understanding of of what was a highly intricate and technically complex project involving the management of many resources across different teams, working with several strands of work in parallel.• He took on an overarching leadership role within a project tasked with in-sourcing the management of IaaS infrastructure away from an external vendor: his unique insights and strategy helped ensure the transition was a success.• Working with Microsoft's GitHub Projects PO, he was able to customise the PM tooling to uniquely suit the team’s needs, being fully up-to-date with the latest features.• Under the leadership of a new team manager, a delivery team was formally created, consisting of several resources to manage delivery across the capabilities: he was a key resource in leading and driving these changes forward.• He has helped deliver a more formalised, Planning interval based agile process across the team, and has led a number of planning workshops, demos and retrospectives, collaborating with other teams.• He has been a key liaison between FedEx and Expert Thinking, ensuring that Expert Thinking continues to provide a highly agile and tailored service which ensures the best outcomes for FedEx.

They are responsible for engineering devOps solutions to build the software for the Mergermarket websites, using a microservices architecture built around AWS Container Services (ECS) and Docker, deployed using Jenkins. • Started a green field project to produce a reusable and scalable integration platform using WMQ/WMB for client Airports, using Agile/Scrum methodologies and CI Build/Deploy/Test.• Worked with a colleague to set up GIT/Gerrit and Jenkins CI from scratch. Designed and created all the build, deployment and test scripts. Built and deployed artefacts include WMQ scripts, WMB BAR files, database scripts, XSLT, and java classes. The scripts integrate with Soap UI to test via MQ.• Currently CI/DevOps Lead, working with development team, product owner, management and clients to ensure we meet all requirements, adding appropriate stories to the backlog to ensure we keep up with change: designing, implementing and coding solutions as required.• Helped move our CI servers from our internal network to AWS Cloud Servers• Created customised release packages for deployment at client airports, containing separate deployment code, configuration (for all envs) and artefacts which are brought together at release time.• Help out with ensuring our development VMs have the correct tooling and local scripts to allow developers to effectively do their job.• As our builds became more complex and onerous, I responded by designing and developing a multiple component architecture using multiple code repositories including a common Core shared across all projects. Redesigned and modified the CI builds to reconstitute the different parts and take in ready built components from an Artefact Store in the cloud. • Added additional complexity to our CI to accommodate a project which deploys to multiple Airports.• Became key SCM person as well as CI lead: responsible for managing and merging in patches and creating customer releases, release documentation.• Created a new Python-based framework to consolidate the CI and Customer Releases and make the platform easier to maintain

• Re-joined LBG to bring to bear existing specialist expertise of Lloyds Infrastructure, processes and automation.• Day-to-day infrastructure builds, configuration, support, including WMQ Clustering, load balanced WAS Servers, SSL. • Additionally, created a new set of web-based reports which extract live infrastructure configuration information allowing developers to self-service rather than contact our team. It also gave our team easy visibility of infrastructure status and an inventory of the whole estate.

• Working at Lloyds TSB in the STP (straight through payments) team who were approaching a live date for their Faster Payments Implementation. This was a fixed 3 month contract to help out with the pressures of nearing the go-live date.• Faced the task of understanding a very complex WMB/WMQ environment and set of systems which made up the STP platform. Picked up knowledge of the environment very quickly and was able to help out with analysing and fixing code defects very soon after joining.

• Involved in building all the data interfaces in WMB between different legacy systems and a new portfollio analysis system, Thinkfolio, dealing with FIXML messages.• Was one of the key developers in a highly successful Trade Flow Manager ESB product implementation using Java and XML within WMB to transform legacy data into FIXML. Designed an adapter solution using Sybase stored procedures with RTDS to extract data from AXA legacy systems to WMQ queues in XML. Specified and built the data transformations into FIXML within WMB 6.0 using XLST, Java, ESQL and OpenRules, working closely with the business.• Started off at AXA taking over a set of WMQI 2.1 interfaces between Decalog and Minerva. Learnt them and fixed bugs with minimal documentation. Worked closely with the business to implement Fixed Income and FX functionalities to production.
