I am an academic interventional cardiologist with active research, clinical and teaching roles.I completed my basic medicine and advanced training in cardiology in Adelaide. After completing cardiology training I undertook Ph.D. studies at the University of Adelaide. My PhD research was to understand the natural history and pathogenesis of Tako-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy, a cardiac condition which predominantly affects ageing women. I received the Australian Postgraduate Award for the Ph.D. I have published extensively on this condition in various peer-reviewed international medical journals and has presented his research findings at multiple international cardiology conferences. I was awarded Dean's Commendation for Doctoral Thesis Excellence for outstanding thesis outcome along with Doctoral Research Medal for outstanding research at the Ph.D. level, a prestigious award, which is only presented to fifteen recipients a year from all forms of research. I have acted as a reviewer for the NHMRC and multiple high impact medical journals.After the completion of PhD. I worked as a post-doc coronary and structural interventional cardiology fellow at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, which is Canada’s largest and foremost cardiovascular health centre. I performed more than two thousand coronary angiograms and nearly one thousand coronary interventions during my stay in Ottawa. In the second year of fellowship, my primary focus was complex structural cardiac interventions and was involved in more than one hundred TransCatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) procedures. My other interests include complex coronary intervention, coronary graft intervention, rota-ablation, coronary imaging and invasive assessment of coronary physiology.
