1) Led a team of senior engineers in USA, Mexico, and India in the core Transactions Engine area which is responsible for Atomicity, Consistency, Isolation, and Durability (ACID) for the entire Oracle Database. This team consists of an elite group that forms the main pillars on which the Oracle database stands to serve 400,000+ customers in mission-critical environments. 3) Architecting and developing (patents pending) the transaction engine and metadata engine for a massively distributed, petabyte-scale, geo-distributed, shared-nothing Cloud database. This is part of Oracle's futuristic strategy of transforming the databases underpinning critical systems used by billions of people including travel reservations, telecommunications, hospitals, payroll, insurance, banking, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, e-commerce, utilities, and government services.1) Architected the Blockchain Transaction Execution layer that unifies the maturity and sophistication of the Database stack with Blockchain's trust and consensus. This is a highly scalable, permission-ed Blockchain platform that enables rich and complex enterprise applications in the Fintech, E-governance, and Sustainable Development space; currently, this project is in stealth mode.

1) Designed and Implemented the Distributed Architecture of Oracle Data In-Memory: VLDB 2015 Paper https://tinyurl.com/yc4nm6e8 . This architecture features scale-out of both memory capacity and workload by distribution, glitch-free fail-over via redundancy, dynamic and elastic cluster re-balancing, and compute shipping to exploit data locality. 2) Proposed a novel approach to scaling data analytics across a large number of computers in the cloud by preventing communication between them. This breakthrough work has resulted in 10 US patents (granted & pending).

Architecting the Mutuality Platform that is enabling thousands of micro-entrepreneurs from Liberia, Uganda, Rwanda, Tanzania, Kenya, and the Philippines to rise above the poverty line by investing in their own family businesses that provide affordable services to their communities. This is an "unprogram" that is applying Mauricio Miller's The Alternative approach to poverty alleviation, which empowers communities to become local economic engines rather than recipients of donations. Mutuality Platform serves as both an operating system and a social network for 2500+ cottage industries; and is being replicated by many social impact organizations - Child Center of New York, Children International, Up with Africa, and Root Change.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) cannot be achieved by 2030, unless there are improved technical mechanisms for collaboration and coordination, including teamwork, learning and sharing, intelligence gathering and accelerating knowledge and scientific breakthroughs. The lack of comparable social impact measurement systems is a major roadblock for unifying activities, investments and analysis of progress towards the UN SDGs.The goal of this activity is a citation system for data, algorithms and data usage. Funders whether private, public, philanthropic or for-profit can blend their funds into appropriate projects that do not spread harms. To facilitate this, we aim to track project inputs and outputs more transparently, in ways that can be audited, with focus especially on projects with sustainable outcomes. We recognize that it is the information made available for analysis and audit on an evolving basis that is critical to achieve this goal.

1) Initiated a Covid-response that applied technology to help prevent or mitigate the spread and impact of the pandemic in communities around the world. A record of 101 projects was funded, 5 times the number funded in 2019. With this special call for technology-leveraging projects to counterattack Covid-19, IEEE was proud to be in a position to rally its worldwide membership in the fight against the pandemic. 2) Created a project repository which was a dynamic database that encouraged collaboration. Within this platform, people were able to post, follow, support, and crowdfunding projects. 1) Led the strategic, global arm of the IEEE Board of Directors that manages IEEE’s portfolio of programs and multi-million-dollar project investments that leverage the worldwide membership in applying and advancing technology solutions for sustainable development. 2) Chaired the peer-review process of 500+ technology project proposals around the globe as part of the catalytic investment fund that invests 1M$ annually. 3) Led the IEEE member-driven COVID-response by supporting 101 projects around the world in 2020. This included evaluation of proposals, chairing the peer review and selection, and providing technical guidance to the leadership teams. 4) Spearheaded social impact measurement of 10 sustainable development projects around the world in 2019, using the technique of SocialROI methodology.
