Transport team owns the networking infrastucture at Reddit that routes all user requests from CDNs to Ingress platform (Envoy/Contour) to our backend services. Traffic team owns the overall site health, Reddit's answer to bots/scrapers especially in this new AI-era.

Part of Engineering Leadership team at Google Cloud Storage (GCS). My team managed the rebalancing infrastructure that moved bytes across the globe (scale of Exabytes per day) to maintain SLOs for underlying storage systems at Google in accordance to GCS replication constraints.

Engineering Manager for the File System group (part of Core Platform org) in Box. File System is part of core product infrastructure for Box. Each and every feature at Box is build on top of files/folders/collaborations and shared links managed by my team.

Traffic team handles all the requests coming into Twitter network and routes them to the configured service. The mapping is based on rules implemented by Twitter Front End and Service Discovery. It also includes managing PoPs (Points of Presence) around the world.

Developing and maintaining all web performance related features offered as part of our CDN (Content Delivery Network) offering.• HTTP/2 – Lead Developer and Internal EvangelistInitially the only developer to start development on supporting HTTP/2 (the next generation protocol for web browsing) in C++ on Linux for our flagship proxy-server and eventually led a 7-member team to release the product to customers.- Participated in all the IETF HTTP/2 standards committee meetings/interops to add/suggest features to HTTP/2 draft and participated in sessions to discuss implementation details/research data.- Once the HTTP/2 draft was frozen worked with a bigger team to add all the features to our proxy-server within a small amount of time.- Worked relentlessly with Product Development and customers in evangelizing the pros/cons of using the new protocol for their individual scenarios.• SPDY – Developed and maintained the SPDY implementation in C/C++ on Linux for our proxy-server. Added SPDY/3 and SPDY/3.1 support for customers to use the latest versions of the draft standard.

Developing and maintaining all real-time monitoring products for listed derivatives (Equity/Index Futures and Options and Commodity Futures and Options) for the Bloomberg Terminal.• Option Block Trade Monitor (Real Time Monitoring) - Lead DeveloperThe product was a suite of listed derivatives functions for the Bloomberg Terminal. It alerted users of all the major trades for all the financial exchanges around the world specifying different criteria using publish/subscribe model.- Member of the team which designed and developed the back-end task in C/C++ on AIX/Solaris that listens to trades and stores them in a database. Solved challenges including scaling the task to handle high loads of trades.• Corporate Actions Suite – DeveloperDesigned and developed suite of tools for maintaining Equity Corporate Actions. Work involved UI, database design and back-end tools for maintaining option chains for equities, equity index, and equity futures.• Option Chain Server – DeveloperThe product was the back-end service to return cached option chain of a financial security. It was used extensively in the company for a suite of products to display/monitor option chain quickly (acting as cache), calculate volatility etc.- Member of the team which designed and developed the back-end service in C++ on AIX/Solaris which handles request/response paradigm to retrieve option chain for specified financial security. It was also responsible for filtering out data to return specified data. Solved challenges including maintaining cache integrity and providing a scaling solution with multi-threaded request processing.

• Virtual Diskless Filer (CIFS/NFS support) - Developer (File Systems)The product was a part of Riverbed’s push in the storage space using similar technology used in WAN acceleration space; the key value proposition being de-duplication of data on the exposed volumes.- Member of the team which designed and developed the front-end layer of a stackable virtual file system for this product. Implemented filesystem semantics in the front-end layer which included CIFS/NFS state management like opening files, locks, access control and share access control.• Storage de-duplication research tool - Lead DeveloperThe tool helped in researching proprietary methods for de-duplication in comparison to block-based and file-based de-duplication. It was also shipped on the same platform as the Virtual Diskless Filer product.

• Search Filter - DeveloperThis module was a part of Microsoft Desktop Search product shipped with Windows Vista product. Designed and developed Search Filter for xlsb (Excel binary file) extension in C++ on Windows.

• Language Converter - The product was developed in C++ on Linux as a back-end extension of parser ‘SAVANT’ developed in University of Cincinnati. The product was used extensively in the company for hardware/software co-simulation efforts. • SONET/SDH Chip Driver – Implementation and Testing of SONET/SDH Chip Driver in C on VxWorks (Real Time OS).
