Kumar has performed over 1000 indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations involving a variety of physical, chemical and microbial (mould and bacteria) parameter levels. Infrared (IR) thermal imaging moisture tests, air and surface sampling, identification and quantification of fungal growth, onsite damage assessments and removal specifications for water and mold damaged materials, data interpretations, determinations, contaminated material removal schedules and protocols, coordinating project with remediation contractors, and conducting final post-remediation clearance testing and re-occupancy evaluations. Kumar is in charge of managing and overseeing laboratory work involved with the observing, monitoring and identifying of microorganisms. Tracking of microorganisms in a range of environments, monitoring and assessing samples from a range of sources. Executing species identification methods, including molecular techniques, to test samples, developing new techniques, products and processes for the scope of the project. Kumar is the key personnel for remediation recommendations and solutions reporting, and expert in how to prevent the spread of disease and contamination; through systematic diagnostic air testing and the use of antimicrobials. As a microbiologist he grows microbial cultures; using specialist laboratory equipment and instrumentation to undertake studies and research requirements of the project. He is responsible for collecting samples from different types of environments, their quality control, e.g. checking for signs of contamination, writing up research findings and producing reports; preparing assessment and providing feedback.
