CurrentInvolved in the full scale procurement life cycle, from requirements identification to purchase order close out. Medium scale cable wire projects across Western Canada can be in excess of $CAD 1.5 million.Responsible for negotiating prices and improving lead times with the vendors to meet customers project deadlines. Offer alternative cable wire options to sales for their customers, which includes but is not limited to, the type of metal base (Copper or Aluminum, based on the application), the cable insulation, shielding, jacketing, fire rating, armoring (if required) and direct burial rated cables. Take into account the location, timelines and the scale of the project, before suggesting suitable cable options.Follow up with the vendors to ensure the smooth running of cable wire manufacturing to meet customers deadlines. Purchase non stock goods only that meet the quality expectations of the organization.Effectively score supplier capabilities and select optimal suppliers.Endeavor to upsell cable wire options from partner manufacturers to obtain favorable rebates and continued business support for future projects.Review the suppliers performance using data and metrics.Keep sales up to date with the landed costs based on quantity procured, the source the material has been procured from and the time frame that the product could be sourced within.Ensure metal rates are adjusted periodically to reflect new landed costs of Copper & Aluminum cables.Coordinate with vendors with respect to buying back excess non stock material or liaise with sales into selling excess material.
