I like to build things. Architecture serves as the best tool for me to share my creativity with the world. In addition, my process for design and general problem-solving anchors around my local community; having lived and studied in such an incredible city, my rigor and decisions are both fueled by both the individual and social needs of the people of Raleigh, NC.Having studied architecture at NC State University in the heart of Raleigh, I understood, through both my projects and colleagues, that the difficulties of my city grasp more than the realms of architecture; therefore, my interests outside of academia involve participating and socializing with other groups and institutions in Raleigh. For example, participating in local programs and workshops such as Real Matter '22 and the Bitmore Installation, which are both student-oriented activities revolving around interventions in areas around Raleigh.I truly hope to, with my architectural education and extracurricular experiences, make relevant and necessary changes to the underdeveloped and dilapidated systems of my direct community. Through algorithmic modeling, digital fabrication, hands-on making, collection, and discussion, the research efforts drew practices and techniques from native makers and folk potters and tied those experiences to emerging digital systems, generating space for critical discourse around the use of (digital) technology in architecture.My role in this development was anchored around the exploration of the different features that affected our printed results. By both changing the qualities of the clay prior to printing, and those of the Grasshopper script we had created to produce the g-code, I explored the extent of the patterns, form, texture, and modularity of the extrusions.
