Secured historic May 2014 City Council approval for $255M public investment in new arena with broad political, media and public support.• NBA Global Games. Led October 2014 visit to China by 170-person delegation of Kings owners, players, coaches, VIPs and executives to play two exhibition games and expand Kings and NBA’s presence in Chinese market. • Community Advisory Council and Benefits Program. Developed 25-point arena community benefits plan supported by 13-member advisory council and 26 partner organizations focused on achieving targets for local and disadvantaged worker hiring; local and small business utilization; sustainability; arts and culture; and education.• Labor Agreements. Led successful multi-party negotiations on labor agreements for arena construction and operations.

Directed 501(c)3 organization focused on promoting catalytic job creation and economic growth across metropolitan Sacramento. Supervised seven staff, oversaw $1M budget, and managed relations with network of 200 CEOs, elected officials, nonprofit executives, labor leaders, and civic representatives.Key Contributions and Achievements• Kings Ownership Bid and NBA approval. Chief advisor to Mayor Kevin Johnson in successfully (1) assembling new ownership group led by TIBCO CEO Vivek Ranadive to acquire Sacramento Kings NBA franchise for a record $534M team valuation; and (2) securing support from NBA Commissioner David Stern and the NBA Board of Governors to reject relocation to Seattle and approve transfer of ownership to Ranadive group.• Downtown Arena. Facilitated development of $448M public-private financing plan for new downtown arena anchored by Sacramento Kings NBA franchise and supported by $500M in new ancillary mixed-use development. Mobilized political and public support for project expected to generate 4,000 jobs and $11.5B in economic impact as largest redevelopment project in City history. • NBA Ticket and Sponsorship Commitments. Secured $50M in corporate sponsorship commitments and $40M from 10,000 full season ticket commitments to demonstrate market viability.

Oversaw full range of Mayor’s strategic, management, financial, operational, policy, media, and external relations activities. Managed 120 full- and part-time staff over four years. Oversaw all communications, including major speeches, media events, messaging, social media, and rapid response.
