Launched world-first Virtual Reality Live Streaming Service that uses interactive streaming technology by leading a joint team with DWANGO (the largest video distributor in Japan); broadcasted to about 10,000 users.

Worked on project planning and management of commercial and start-up products, leading up to ten full-time and twenty contract staffs. Developed initial network setup tools “Flets Easy Setup Tools,” distributed to all NTT East users (about 10 million).

Developed security services “Flets Virus Clear.” By analyzing logs, improved UX, and integrated network architectures, which resulted in the growth of user service from 1 million to 1.6 million (equivalent to an annual income increase of 3 billion yen). Started up a customer relationship management project using speech recognition and text-mining technologies, designed the system architecture and APIs, and succeed in introducing the systems into five customer centers.

Gave lectures to graduate students on computer vision/graphics and career strategy as technologists in commercial corporations.

Led up five talented research engineers and internship students from Japan and the United States.Expert in computer vision/graphics based on machine learning, parallel computing using GPU, and visual/haptic user interface. Obtained about 30 patents in the US, Japan, the EU, Korea, and China.Started up interactive panoramic TV project which led to live streaming service by NTT docomo and BeeTV, enabling the users to select and share personal views, using seamless panoramic image synthesis and scalable streaming in H.264 Anex H codec.Proposed and formulated three dimensional imaging algorithm applied to free-viewpoint TV, seamless panoramic image synthesis, face-to-face tele-communications, and three-dimensional image facsimile. By self-coded core logics using GPGPU, accomplished real-time rendering and demonstrated interactive systems in public events such as the pre-opening event of the redeveloping project in Osaka (http://kc-i.jp/en/) and international exhibitions such as the NAB show and IBC.Carried joint research projects with top COE universities in Japan (Univ. of Tokyo, Osaka Univ., and Nagoya Univ.) and broadcasting/media companies (Nippon Television Network, Sky PerfecTV, and Avex Group).
