About Kun Wang

Kun Wang is a Director of Quality and Manufacturing Engineering at Teledyne Princeton Instruments. They possess expertise in c++, c, embedded software, embedded systems, firmware and 17 more skills. Colleagues describe them as "I have worked with Kun Wang since she arrived in 2013 at Schlumberger’s facility (PTC) in Princeton. Before her arrival, we had interacted briefly when our separate projects in different centers intersected – hers providing underlying software system functions and mine providing the application. She made a strong and favorable impression during those brief interactions. At PTC, Kun took on many diverse projects, tasks, and responsibilities that went considerably beyond design and development of software and communications systems. She greatly expanded her range of technologies to include nuclear detectors, nuclear generators, downhole tool electronics, assembly processes, test processes, and materials process control systems. Kun stepped up and learned each area, becoming adept at analyzing issues, developing improvements (design, process, etc), and leading others with her expertise. To further make the point – Kun stepped out of communications and software, and without hesitation stepped successfully into nuclear technology, electronics, and manufacturing processes. I have direct experience working with Kun to debug pulsed neutron spectroscopy tools, to analyze failures in these tools in the field, to improve the manufacturing processes for these tools, and to improve the related manufacturing and test processes. Kun addressed each of these efficiently and with exemplary skill. She quickly gained a reputation for her high level of performance and considerable determination to achieve a high level of success in whatever she worked on. Soon after her arrival at PTC, Kun was given more and more responsibility. Eventually, she led teams manufacturing tools. She then became responsible for all of the manufacturing process, test, and control systems in the facility – approximately 200 systems addressing approximately 60 different applications. Managing these systems is a very complex undertaking, which includes the addition of several new types of systems each year. These systems handle a wide range of applications from materials processing to photo-cathode evaporation to neutron generator development to new technology development. Her management role includes a small team, tracking and monitoring all of the application technical issues, operating and application software development and maintenance, hardware development and maintenance, data acquisition and archival, safety, security, and full networking capability including remote access. Discussing this endeavor with Kun will help you get a sense of her wide ranging technical and management capabilities. The decision to close and move PTC has caused us to lose some extraordinarily talented people, in particular, Kun. However, our loss is your gain. I highly recommend adding Kun to your team, whether for her strong technical expertise, her ability to adapt to a wide range of technology and roles, her proven management capabilities, or all of the above.", "I’ve had the sincere pleasure to work with Kun for the last couple of years, during the development and commercialization of Schlumberger’s latest nuclear measurement-based oilfield tool. Unlike many others I have worked with in her role, I found her to possess the right balance of temperament to navigate the critical interface between Engineering and Manufacturing. This entails appreciating the importance of the rigor demanded by the Manufacturing process, whilst understanding the iterating and evolving nature of Engineering. Most notable to me is her uncanny ability to identify exactly what is important and apply the right amount of focus to address any shortcomings (e.g., during hand-on troubleshooting, Mfg. acceptance test definition, product specification, etc.). In this regard, particularly noteworthy are Kun’s risk assessment and failure analysis abilities, which include the proficient use of both process and design FMECAs, and RCA methodologies (Appollo, 5-why, etc.). She has genuinely appreciated how important having this skill is with nuclear oilfield tools which have high degrees of integration. Reflecting the breath of her abilities, I know Kun is also quite capable in the area of programming (cf. tool scripts). Lastly, Kun has repeatedly shown to me her dedication to not only understand what she manufactures (always impressive in my book!), but also to recognize the team she manages (for example, caring that they be acknowledged and rewarded for great performance). This rare combinations of talents and skills has made her a valuable asset to the Company.", and "I worked with Kun at iBiquity for over seven years. She was part of a team responsible for advanced products and services development. Kun is a great engineer and was a strong contributor to iBiquity’s success. She has a strong digital communication and signal processing background and excellent programming skills. She played a critical role in some of our most important HD Radio product development efforts: multicasting, conditional access, program associated data services, HD Radio receiver cost and power reduction, large object transfer, and the development of our AM/FM transceiver simulation platform. Her work at iBiquity led to four granted US patents. Kun is highly motivated and self-driven and truly enjoys finding technical solutions to the most challenging problems. She is dedicated, hardworking, a great team player, and works well under pressure, delivering high quality results on time. I’d love to work with her again."

Listed skills include C++, C, Embedded Software, Embedded Systems, and 18 others.
