As a Developer II, I created the first version of enterprise coupon/promotions web services which Macy's stores and Macys.com applications use to provide a list of available coupons and discounts which a user may select.

As a Programmer Analyst I, I collaborated in a large team to enhance and maintain the Stores' "SMART Point-of-Sale" (SPOS) application used on the registers. Development was primarily in C++ for the SPOS application. As part of a larger move to mobile devices used in stores to provide line busting duties, I had also enhanced the .NET Compact Framework 3.5 application written in C# for the line busting application, which evolved into Mobile Point-of-Sale (MPOS).With one other developer, I had collaborated in developing a prototype Android (Honeycomb) tablet app to provide a "Search, Send, and Suspend" feature. My teammate developed a screen scraping application that would turn the Macys.com "Search and Send" application on the registers into consumable services as well as store server configuration and shopping cart services. At which point, I was able to consume the "Search and Send" web services into the Android app and provide search, product information, and shopping cart capabilities. The shopping cart could be "suspended" and resumed on a register to complete the financial transaction.
