Stemming from my participation as a fellow in the Knowles Teacher Initiative, I lead a monthly virtual inquiry group with 11 other Knowles educators from across the country focused on recognizing and improving inequitable outcomes in their classrooms and becoming more anti-racist. I am responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the sessions.

• In partnership with Stanford's Teacher Education Program and the SF Teacher residency, I mentored two teacher candidates in Science, supporting them with year-long classroom placements.

• Developed meeting agendas, facilitated meetings, and led sessions to analyze student work and develop professional practice.• Helped to develop and evaluate a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the community.• Wrote and implemented two grants to fund and sustain equity initiatives at the school. • Led training and planning meetings for over 30 experienced educators and 8 facilitators of equity-based inquiry groups.

• Collaboratively created differentiated, student-centered science curriculum with an emphasis on math integration, inquiry-based projects, and literacy development. • Advised 20 students each year in socio-emotional skills, college and career, and year-end comprehensive, writing portfolio assessment.• Assessed students’ development of reading fluency and sentence level writing to identify and teach needed skills.

• Led a department and afterschool professional learning community focused on the pedagogical technique of complex instruction to improve equitable outcomes for all students.• Supported all math and science teachers in observing each other teach weekly to collect data and provide feedback to each other based on a shared inquiry question of practice.• Filmed teachers and students and discussed best practices of complex instruction in a monthly “Video Club” where we observed best practices together. Opened this meeting to all staff.

As a teacher, I created several interdisciplinary STEAM projects including a middle ages building scale model, a prosthesis engineering challenge, and re-envisioning a cell art piece.Served as Math and Science department lead:• Facilitated the creation and documentation of interdisciplinary, arts integrated, engineering based math and science projects• Advocated for and successfully de-tracked (eliminated the separation based on perceived "intelligence" of) the math classes for 150 students • Coordinated the alignment and selection of Common Core aligned curriculum within the departments
