Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Meredith College, I'm dedicated to understanding the nuances of child development and educational psychology. This education, combined with hands-on experience at the YMCA and various field experiences in WCPSS, forms the foundation of my mission to empower young learners to achieve academic success and personal well-being.As for my personal teaching philosophy, I believe that the purpose of education is to nurture the whole child, preparing them for their lived experiences. This includes not only imparting general knowledge but also equipping students with the skills to manage conflict, stress, and emotions. My goal is to cultivate critical thinkers who are ready for further education and their careers. I strive to create a classroom environment where every student feels loved, supported, and brave. I want my students to understand that making mistakes is a vital part of the learning process and that they truly belong in our classroom community. As a facilitator of learning, I employ various strategies that encourage student engagement and collaboration. I prioritize creating a space where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts and taking risks in their learning journey.
