I began with local auto parts store as a non-commissioned sales associate. In hindsight, I wish it had been on a commission basis because I was selling close to a half million dollars of merchandise a year. It came fairly easy for me because I was really into cars at the time. In the end, my sales numbers earned me a spot as a store manager when we merged with CARQUEST. The only downside to being a manager was that I was usually putting in 60-80 hours a week and had time for little else.

I sold electronics on a commission basis-that was tough! In the end though, I made some really good friends and was even champion of my weight division when it came to Inventory Night Wrestling League.

This includes everything within a bank: CCTV, ATMs, suveillance systems, alarm systems, locks, vaults, vacuum transport systems, etc. It was really fun and I learned a lot, but ultimately I fell victim to a merger that left me without a job.

Greater Chicago Area And Des Moines, Iowa Area

I worked behind the scenes within the banking industry repairing hardware and electronics relative to check sorting and commercial scale printing. I liked the job, but sometimes the hours were crazy because the machines I worked on were usually running 24/7 and I only 60 minutes to respond to any service issues. Phew!
