I write Operator's Manuals and Technical Instructions for various machinery and electronics used in agriculture. That being said, I'm sure my 11th grade English teacher is rolling over in his grave because my books have gone around the world and have been translated into languages I've never even heard of. Look at me now!

I began with local auto parts store as a non-commissioned sales associate. In hindsight, I wish it had been on a commission basis because I was selling close to a half million dollars of merchandise a year. It came fairly easy for me because I was really into cars at the time. In the end, my sales numbers earned me a spot as a store manager when we merged with CARQUEST. The only downside to being a manager was that I was usually putting in 60-80 hours a week and had time for little else.

I sold electronics on a commission basis-that was tough! In the end though, I made some really good friends and was even champion of my weight division when it came to Inventory Night Wrestling League.

I worked on various types of electronics and machinery related to the banking industry. This includes everything within a bank: CCTV, ATMs, suveillance systems, alarm systems, locks, vaults, vacuum transport systems, etc. It was really fun and I learned a lot, but ultimately I fell victim to a merger that left me without a job.

I worked behind the scenes within the banking industry repairing hardware and electronics relative to check sorting and commercial scale printing. I liked the job, but sometimes the hours were crazy because the machines I worked on were usually running 24/7 and I only 60 minutes to respond to any service issues. Phew!
