Over the span of more than four decades, I've had the privilege of dedicating myself to leadership in Commercial and Multi-Family development and construction. Throughout my career, I've strived to approach each project with humility and a commitment to continuous improvement. My expertise lies primarily in design-build delivery, an area where I've been fortunate to influence a wide range of commercial development projects. Currently, I serve as President and Chief Operating Officer at ATC Development, a company specializing in the ownership, development, construction, and management of apartment complexes. In this role, I focus on fostering seamless synergy between our Development and Construction teams. I am responsible for the oversight of every phase—from initial concept and regulatory approvals to entitlements, zoning, design, and permitting. Additionally, I direct the operations of ATC Construction, ensuring alignment with project objectives and maintaining high-quality standards. Having incorporated an Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) we have brought focus, accountability and discipline to our internal operations and processes.Prior to my current position, I spent 22 years as Partner and Vice President of Construction at Miller-Valentine Group, where I led operations at their Southeast Office in Columbia, SC. My tenure there was marked by significant contributions to shaping the company's strategic direction and operational outcomes.In my professional journey I've honed skills in site selection, rigorous feasibility analysis, preconstruction services, strategic contracting, project programming, and value engineering. These experiences have allowed me to lead pivotal roles in the development, design, and construction of signature projects for major clients such as Procter and Gamble, Dominos, Home Depot, and others.My educational background includes a BS in Civil Engineering, complemented by professional accreditations as a General Contractor Agent in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. I hold certifications as a CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member), LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional), and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration).I've held esteemed board positions in organizations such as Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), Associated General Contractors (AGC), Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Columbia Contractors Association (CCA), Lean Construction Institute (LCI), and Vistage, among others.
