We assist the contractor and the end clients by means of training and engineering as well as finding solutions on complicating pipe lifting and remediation issues.

The pioneering of Jaku lifting services was developed during 2015 when a need for access to corroded touch points was identified. The client approached us to solve a major problem which was to access corroded pipes at the touch points, without compromising safety and access these pipes while they were still in service. We developed procedures and tools to solve internationally a very complicated problem. Subsequently JAKU lifting services was “born”.As the developer of these lifting systems, my experience and knowledge of over 35 years in leading a maintenance company in a Petro-chemical plant, provided me with special knowledge in solving complicated maintenance and refurbishment work. The outcome is a highly effective tool, combined with engineering and procedures, that solves a critical corrosion problem on the touchpoint of pipes and cable racks.The solution required a broad spectrum of experience and knowledge ranging from Civil/mechanical/process Engineering, Safety/loss control/permits and procedures, site conditions and maintenance requirements.

Being a director and one of the main shareholders for over 35years, OTB construction was a large Maintenance and Construction contractor on the SASOL Petro-chemical plant in Secunda, South Africa. Our works comprised of civil works (which included earthworks, building, concrete works and large civil construction), structural steel work with our own fabrication workshop and piping works which we did our own welding and installation works. As the Project Director in the firm, my responsibility as a minimum was to manage all works from conception to final completion; also including all commercial and contractual aspects, resourcing, HR, HSE & quality issues to name the least. We were involved in small and large Plant expansions as well as doing maintenance on an aging plant. At any time, the company had between 600 to 1000 personnel and sub-contractors handling over 100 jobsites per month.
