Kurt @ 512-721-8155I fabricated 3.5 meter flight simulation mirrors for 220+ degrees field of view cross cockpit viewing, optics for astronomy, holography, the semiconductor industry, solar collection, and any custom R&D work. My position involved hiring and training people with no optical fabrication experience and managing them to produce the largest flight simulation mirrors in the world,I personally inspected all optics for scratch/dig and other Q.C. specifications as required by our customers. This aspect of my job includes Q. C. documentation from process beginning to end. My management duties help me appreciate the importance of cultivating professional relationships with our vendors and suppliers. I have decades of experience with coating chambers and cleaning processes for mirror coatings, including source inspections of finished coated parts at suppliers facilities.In 2018, FSI in Austin installed a new, state of the art 3.6 meter PVD chamber. It has been my privilege to move from the 3.5 meter mirror making to the 3.5 meter mirror inspection, preparation, and mirror coating.
