As I got started in the Catering industry, I have volunteered in a few different places so far. The two most relevent are the cafe at Pure Innovations and the bakery, also at Pure Innovations. I have worked at the bakery for the longest time (about six months so far) meaning it has given me the most skills. I enjoy baking things like cakes, scones, and biscuits. This type of work is enjoyable for me, and I work very efficiently in the kitchen to as good of a standard as possible. The other most important place that I worked at is a cafe in Romiley. I again enjoy this type of work, and would like to go into the food industry as my career. I also currently volunteer in a charity shop at Cats Protection every week. working in the retail industry is not as enjoyable for me but that doesn't stop me from gaining the experience. I have completed my bronze Duke of Edinburgh award for which I completed six months of a skill (I chose cooking), three months of a sport (hiking), and three months of volunteering (picking up litter in my area). then I completed a two day exhibition which included map reading, carrying all of our equipment and cooking a meal over a camping stove. This was also enjoyable for me.
