Initially I was in a 6 month contract working through Sense (contract agency) for Horizon Power.My job duties were:-Provided engineering support for the development of grid automation solutions-Investigating and testing new technologies that can be used for electrical microgrids-Controlling renewable energy generation systems and understanding their effects on a microgrid-Programming devices that manage renewable energy systems (such as inverters and batteries)-Developing and testing algorithms that are needed for microgrid control-Worked an Agile/lean type work methodology-Designed the control systems need for the stabilization of a microgridAfter the initial 6 month contract I was again contracted out to Horizon Power but via Motion Tech Integrators (Canadian Company) where I was working mostly in Australia but would also work remotely for short periods back in Canada-Continued work as was described before-Designed test criteria and requirements -Carried out testing and integration checks within our solution and oversaw the development and integration of other contractors products with our own-Programmed remote devices for integration with solar inverters

-2 month contract providing Engineering Consulting work-Created home automation control algorithms (apple home kit etc.) based on time-of-use power pricing signals-Programming Raspberry Pi and Arduino devices in Linux, JavaScript and Node-Red -Development was the for the purpose of Solar and household utilities optimization and control

-Designed and managed projects involving Variable frequency drives and/or servo drives, andPLC projects for forestry and the food industry-Created electrical drawings for the project, worked with the customer on their requirementsand mitigated negative effects due to late customer changes within the project-Managed ordering for the project materials -Verified proper building quality of the panels for the project as well as perform electrical testson the VFD panels to ensure all components work as intended-Performed final commissioning and start-up assistance for our product once it arrived at thecustomer's worksite

-Created electrical wiring schematics for microchips and electronic boards using an electrical CAD type document know as Mentor graphics which allowed for easier design of PCB boards-Analyzed and troubleshot electrical problems on PCB boards and fixed accordingly by replacing chips and re-soldering connections-Assembled, programmed and tested PCB boards to verify all peripherals were working correctly

Worked with this company during the summer time in between school were I would:- Assess and service many electrical systems such as generators, lights, and ballasts and electrical panels, with supervisor and co-workers effectively- Prepare wired and install multiple power outlets and other simple systems- Construct electrical panels - Installed various electrical equipment- Preformed electrical maintenance
