I love learning about people and the technical side of finance. And I really enjoy problem solving. As an Adviser, I find myself in a very fortunate position. I speak to a lot of successful people about their lives and what they’d like to achieve. Invariably, this involves the sharing of some great stories about how my clients have approached things over time…..for better and for worse! I believe a good Financial Adviser can learn so much from their clients’ experience and use this to guide others.Earlier in life I spent a couple of years working on a cattle station in the Kimberly region of north west Australia. I think this experience certainly brought out my love of problem solving. Most days provided me with challenges that certainly did not have “cookie cutter” solutions, although I did not find that there are many things that couldn’t be fixed with a set of pliers and fencing wire! As an Adviser I once again find myself presented with this same opportunity – working with different people, different situations, problems and goals. Of course, these days I find a good financial plan seems to provide a better solution more often than the fencing wire.
