- Responsibilities included full inspection of coating process including taping, blast profile, paint brand/type & mixing process, and DFT inspection on primer, intermediate, & topcoat applications of industrial grade coatings applied to various size vessels, skids, & tanks from 12”x 36” up to 14’ X 63’ in size.- Utilized various testing methods such as rub tests, DFT, bend tests, and non-destructive & destructive testing to determine why certain coatings failed in their intended applications.Generated paint reports containing all information pertinent to the coating process including application times, surface temperatures, ambient conditions, products, product batch numbers, and any additional customer spec requests. These reports would accompany the products via the data books and provide a written record of the coatings performed.- Performed inspection & verification of hydrostatic testing to ensure that the vessels were tested safely at the required test pressures as per the customers’ drawings and that the products did not leak or incur any pressure drops during the hydrostatic testing process. Retained all hydrotest documentation needed for compilation of data book or job book to accompany products to the end user. (Ie: charts, recorder #, gauge information, temperature, etc.)- Provided 3rd party inspection for outside vendors performing work or working within our facilities such as TSA (Thermal Spray Aluminum), pickling, piping insulation installs, galvanizing operators, etc. - Worked hand-in-hand with customers’ reps and 3rd party inspectors to ensure that the customers’ specs were being met and that all hold points and witness points listed on the ITP were being adhered to. - Recorded and retained all photo documentation of the various processes to be maintained in the data book & job folders to provide for visual confirmation.- Provided final shipment inspection for all vessels & skid packages before leaving facility.
