Lead the effort on a major rework of the firmware to enable external USB disks and improve out-of-box experience, reliability and recovery options on new and legacy hardware releases simultaneously. Developed a tool to debug corrupted ARM core files where GDB alone was unusable by building stack traces and extracting variable values through disassembling instructions and reverse scanning the stack; these tools directly led to many fixes to user-facing bugs that otherwise would be difficult to address. Improved SPI flash kernel driver to increase read/write performance by up to 200%. Implemented RAID management on business-class Transporter. Introduced a continuous integration system for firmware. Maintained a cross-compiled tool chain of third-party libraries for use on all platforms. Created a bootable Linux USB key for manufacturing the business-class Transporter product. Maintained the order tracking, order entry, and miscellaneous back-end services and support scripts on Solaris and Linux systems. Directly supported all trading groups with both internal and exchange/broker order entry and trade issues. Developed and maintained existing FIX trading interfaces to venues including CME, FTEN, NewEdge, and Morgan Stanley. Actively worked to improve quality and testability of legacy code. Early developer for a small team developing the flagship ETL product abstracting complex data transformation. Developed repository to store ETL transformation metadata backed by MySQL or SQLite. Wrote an API allowing both HTTP/REST and optimized IPC implementations via a single abstract interface. Created multiple data connectors including SugarCRM and QuickBooks. Designed integration demos using the Dojo JavaScript toolkit and a data connector to the SnapLogic server that was accepted into the Dojo code base.

Member of the System Management team in charge user interfaces and administration of the de-duplication backup appliance product. Developed the new System Management Service (SMS) RPC framework for remote and aggregate management of multiple appliances. Produced an IDL parser to generate code for data marshaling and RPC communication between C, Java, and the SMS server with Bison. Developed network management daemon including Ethernet fail-over. Maintained SNMP agent. Implemented a one-click interface to gather relevant logs and data from the system and upload to Data Domain's support site that was used extensively by support personnel.
