Manage enterprise-wide geospatial and other information systems. Responsibilities include management of geospatial content, systems architecture, user engagement and training, business support, and mobile access.

Manage enterprise-wide GIS containing electric facilities and land information in 5,000 square miles of southern Arizona. With a background in data conversion and system implementations, I supervised the complete GPS field inventory in 2003. With implementation of the Esri GIS platform we integrated engineering analysis and line design software so that GIS is the Gold Standard for facilities data at SSVEC.Implemented ArcFM for electric facilities management, automation, and network exports. Implemented company-wide mobile GIS in 2008 based on the ArcGIS Engine and GO! Sync Mapbook software. Using only electronic maps, the linemen, engineers, and most employees use these tools to support their business processes and procedures. In 2012 we extended the software to include a SCADA-GIS integration with switch program tracking and live data displays.In 2014 and 2015 we created an environment for maintenance inspections and follow up maintenance tickets. This system includes field data collection, picture attachment, server-side intelligence, email notifications and follow up reporting.

Host of the podcast Speaking of GIS. The interviews and conversations are about all aspects of GIS and the people who make it happen. It was a terrific little side project that ran it's course and gave me a chance to stretch my speaking skills.

Manage the GNSS (GPS) data collection for electric utility facilities. Covering 5000 square miles, I supervised work of 12 data collection technicians. This required development of data collection standards, implementing GPS technologies, installing software and hardware, and coordinating activities across the client's Engineering and Operations divisions. Field data QC and implementation into enterprise GIS were considered the initial deliverables. The position evolved into support for nascent GIS activities including map creation, facility counts, and initial rollout to Engineering users.

Responsible for GIS data conversion department. Two shifts of GIS Technicians processed paper and electronic records into Smallworld GIS environments for medium-sized utility companies. Acitvities included project management and reporting, hiring and training new technicians, on-going QC of data deliverables, software and database administration for clients, and client communication.

Responsibility for data QC and management of large gas and electric utility GIS. Created new methods to process work across a multi-state utility. Coordinated work of contractors and full-time employees to ensure mapping activities met corporate standards for accuracy and consistency. Developed Smallworld training programs and GIS standards. Coordinated with OMS and Billing specialists, facilitated work of Dispatchers, and worked with IT on transition from GIS project to a GIS department.
