During my career at Tatum, I provided strategic and operational leadership for Tatum’s consulting practice, which represented over $50 million in revenues and a significant portion of Tatum’s EBITDA and had offices across the U.S. My time was focused on business development, marketing and people initiatives -- and I served as a member of Tatum’s Board of Directors.

I founded and led The Controller Group (TCG), a professional services firm focused on Accounting, Technology and Recruiting. TCG was acquired by Tatum, a $250 million CFO consultancy, in 2006 after growing to approximately $20 million in revenues and 80 professionals.

Prior to founding TCG, I served as VP Finance/Controller for eFANshop, an Internet retailer of licensed sports products. I was responsible for the organization and management of the Accounting / Finance and Human Resources departments. I was involved in raising $5 million in seed capital and follow-on financings and later led eFANshop’s Business Development and Strategic Alliance initiatives.

Landed my first job by knocking on doors of CPA firms in Baton Rouge. Tony Doherty gave me a chance as he needed assistance with several client audits. Then landed a gig for Peterson Consulting working on the government's cleanup of the RTC (Resolution Trust Corporation) following the S&L debacle of the late 1980's. Promoted to Senior Consultant and passed the CPA exam while on the project.

Paid for a substantial part of my college expenses (bar tabs and dates!) through the Greek Directory, a fraternity and sorority phone book at Arkansas, which has one of the largest greek systems in the country. As a full-time student and during breaks, I sold ads, collected phone numbers, laid out the ads and typeset the numbers (during many late nights at Kinko's!) and printed several thousand copies each semester. Successfully sold the business upon graduation in 1992.
