CurrentWhat I do with SIL PNG:• Direct the operations of four sub-divisions (Network Services, Telephony, Helpdesk and Software Development) and three division supervisors.• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to network hardware and software acquisition, use, support, security, and backup. • Negotiate contracts and coordinate activities with hardware, software, telecommunications, support, and training vendors. • Develop and communicate standards for use, operations, and security of network, personal computers, and data. • Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures. • Design, specify, assemble, configure, install, upgrade and maintain network hardware, software, information and telecommunications services such as: computers, tablets, phones, system software, software applications, printers, servers, routers, bridges, switches, modems, cabling, printing and directory structures, rights, security, files services and permissions and internet services. • Perform network troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose common network problems. • Collect and analyze network and memory utilization data. • Establish and maintain network users, user environments, directories, and security for networks. • Provide users with network technical support by responding to their needs and questions concerning their access to resources on the network and the operation of various software programs. • Train users on software and equipment usage. • Communicate with other departments to report and resolve software, hardware, and operations problems. • Consult with department managers to develop system solutions consistent with organizational objectives. • Research and evaluate new technologies.
