I am the Chair of the Commercial Litigation and Insurance Practice Groups at Conn Kavanaugh. I also am on the firm's Management Committee, and Chair of the firm's Technology Committee. My commercial litigation practice focuses on complex business disputes, including claims of unfair and deceptive business practices, breach of contract, and business torts such conversion of trade secrets, fraud, and interference with advanteous business relations. My clients are in diverse fields, including technology, healthcare, the energy sector, education, and facilities management. I twice have argued and prevailed at the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court with regard to business litigation, both times establishing new law. As a result of one of those appeals, Massachusetts Lawyer's Weekly named me as "Lawyer of the Year."My insurance practice focuses on coverage issues, allegations of bad faith, and the oversight of high-value claims. My clients primarily are insurers of professionals such as law firms and accountants, as well as educational institutions. I additionally have experience representing insureds with respect to erroneous coverage determinations by their insurers.I pride myself on aggressive advocacy and providing my clients with practical advice. I recognize that my client's interests often are best served with a negotiated resolution, but will not hesitate to bring a matter to trial if warranted.I am admitted to practice law in Massachusetts, Connecticut, and multiple federal courts.
