This job role requires me to be forward thinking, well organised and calm under pressure in what often can be a fast paced, high pressure environment where other members of staff are looking to me for direction and instruction. The majority of my working time is spent marshalling our circuits where I am required to remain attentive and alert in order in order to be able to react quickly to help our staff and customers if any untoward events should occur in the form of mechanical failures or accidents, at which point we are trained to follow important protocols and procedures designed to both protect ourselves but also importantly anyone participating or spectating at our event. I am responsible for the continual training and development of my team who are comprised from a diverse age range and professional background, who's combined experience lends important insight and alternative solutions to problems. This means that I am well versed in working as part of a team and the importance of good communication, whilst marshalling I am based on my own so being self motivated and focused is critical. Other duties in this job role include customer service interaction where I am required to be well spoken, presented and informed to best help and aid our clientele during track days and corporate experiences where only the highest standards are expected of us. This can also bring it's challenges where often we have been needed to help resolve disputes but when dealt with a calm, understanding approach positive results can be achieved and extra effort makes all the difference. Finally office administration work completes my job, this includes creating staff rosters, shift patterns, checking and submitting staff time sheets. Planning and conducting site maintenance so that our venue looks a professional and maintains its excellent reputation Show less

After my training I was entrusted with working independently, marshaling a specific section of circuit reporting back to the duty manager with regards to incidents, track conditions whilst also being alert and reactive to communicate via flag and light signals with circuit users. In this time I also helped to complete circuit maintenance tasks, event set up and break down to help the team achieve our goals and enable the company to run and operate highly successful corporate events. I completed my first aid at work certificate and also became an aviation fire fighter when the company expanded its operation to include an aerodrome based on site, enabling me to expand my job role, becoming more integral within the team whilst teaching me valuable skills which were transferable into other areas / roles around the event, such as situational awareness, crisis control and the opportunity to become a fire warden. In 2010 I qualified as an Emergency medical technician, completing a weeks further training and then re-qualified in 2012 for a further 3 year qualification allowing me to assist the on site paramedic with medical skills higher than that of first aid at work and led to me being a first a responder with the safety team for emergency situations both on and off the circuit, becoming heavily involved with medical emergencies on both car and motorcycle events.in 2013 aged 23 after hard and work and dedication within the team I was given the opportunity to run the safety team in the absence of the department chiefs, this helped to grow my confidence in both being a strong team leader and my decision making skills when leading a group, how to effectively utilize people and resources to resolve a number of situations efficiently and to a positive end.
