We recently witnessed a 44x (not a joke, not a typo - forty-four times) increase in productivity from a limited test we did with a client. Not all productivity gains are that high (it depends on your workflow) - but even a 10x improvement is a poor result from this system.

ZenSales is company I built that specializes in marketing and shipping tools for small businesses. It started as a solo project in Nov 2016, and very quickly expanded to over 10,000 customers within 2 months. After a pivot in May 2017 to focus on our more lucrative offerings, ZenSales revenue continued to grow and achieved $1m ARR in November 2017. I sold ZenSales in August 2019 to Ship.com.Core strengths: - UX. ZenSales took off because it was vastly easier to ship things from ZenSales than from incumbents. - Customer Service. ZenSales offers an exceptional customer service experience. I took great care when building the company to lay the foundational concepts needed to achieve the mark of exceptional service.

Started a video game company with (eventually) millions of players and over $6m in revenue. Led a cross-functional team of 15 full-time employees and dozens of volunteer moderators. MCPVP started as a solo project in 2011, and grew to 15 employees by mid-2012, and stayed around that size until I sold it in 2015. Challenges include: - Scaling bare-metal infrastructure (cloud servers were not performant enough to effectively run large-scale games at the time). Ended up developing tech very similar to today's container technology (which was in it's infancy at the time), which allowed quick scaling to meet demand. - DDoS mitigation strategies (complex infrastructure engineering) - Processing and analyzing TBs of incoming information to determine the effectiveness of various gameplay mechanics (heavily utilizing AWS) - Credit Card fraud detection and prevention - Player cheating detection and effective policies to deter cheating - Managing social issues within the gaming community, such as personal attacks, threats, "Swatting", "doxxing", etc - Managing a fully-remote company (before it was cool), with employees distributed across the world (US, Japan, UK, Netherlands, Australia), and across all 4 mainland US timezones.

Freelance client work - mostly in .NET (c#) and JavaScript. Notable projects include: - Developed a payroll system for a California civil engineering firm. Before: bi-weekly payroll requires 80+ hours of labor to produce. After: weekly payroll is done with less than 8 hours of work. - Developed (from scratch) internal booking and management tools for a Las Vegas wedding chapel. Multi-year project with me with both lead engineer & project owner roles. - Developed a website for a non-profit to help convey various options for private school vouchers. Big challenge to convey complex information in as simple a format as possible.
