From high tech sales and telecommunications infrastructure to an engaging 21st century classroom, Kurtis has been working with technology for over ten years with one goal in mind, to help people communicate and learn like never before using the latest products and services.Currently, Kurtis works as a science teacher in Southern California. His enthusiasm for and background in technology helps him blend his lessons with 21st technology, allowing students to drive their own mastery of the concepts, focusing on foster the growth of a student’s ability as a learner. Prior, Kurtis worked as a Technical and Sales Specialist at Apple, Inc. He worked with customers to troubleshoot their devices, alleviating ownership frustrations and provided product and service solutions to help people become more and better connected to their family, friends, and colleagues through their products. At ARQ, Kurtis was a field technician and warehouse associate. As a field technician, Kurtis built the initial relationships between property managers and ARQ while assessing on-site cellular equipment for decommissioning and deconstruction. In addition, he led their inventory strategies in which Kurtis managed ARQ's shipping logistics, company assets, and project materials.As a teacher for Clark County School District, Kurtis worked with students at all levels in high school. From AP Physics to general science, he helped drive his student’s interests in the sciences. Kurtis supported more students to graduate by hosting after school tutoring for the state’s science proficiency exams, leading to over 90% of the students in his five classes pass the science portion during his first year. He reinstated the school’s Key Club program and advised the Senior Class Council, focusing on developing leadership, communication, and event organization skills.
