My primary IT career has been with the US Department of Veterans Affairs. I perform both technical and contracting duties, serving as a bridge between many aspects of the IT Project process. I use my technical skills (CCNA/CCDA/MCSE) to work with and understand a programs technical needs to being articulating them into contract requirements for an eventual contract. I use my extensive VistA Systems Architecting, Management, and Support experience along with Medical Center Network Architecting and troubleshooting to help form the program's requirements. I then utilize my understanding of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) to construct the various components that go into a contract, working with contracting officers and their staff (Contracting specialists, Legal teams, technical reviewers) to complete an actionable contracting package. These include documents such as Statements of Work, Statements of Objectives, Independent Government Cost Estimates, Justifications for other than Full and Open Competition, Brand Named Justifications, Cost Benefit Analysis, Market Research Execution and Analysis, etc. During this process I translate technical requirements to contracting people, and contracting concepts to technical people. During the Solicitation phase, I ensure the integrity of the acquisition and field technical and contractual questions that come in from the various offerors. Then, during the evaluation stage, I lead teams of evaluators in properly selecting a the best technical proposal. I gather all of the information and provide consensus repots to the contracting officer. Then, once an award is made, I represent the Federal Government to the contractor and ensure the contractor executes against the contracts in accordance to the terms and conditions of the contract. I also monitor government activity to make sure the Government doesn't ask for work that is outside of the scope of the contract, potentially mis-obligating the government.

As an AXP Team member, I helped Architect, Manage, and Troubleshoot VA VistA (Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture ) Systems nationally. I traveled the country designing, installing, and implementing new VistA Platforms During my time on the team I developed numerous utilities to support the management of these systems.I also created the AXPINT (AXP Interegator) system that monitors the individual hospital systems and reports to a central location so that a "Warboard" could be updated with the health status of all VistA systems across the country. I also developed a network-based status tester that sent packets to each facility, recording the routing time and return rates to understand the health status of the VistA system as well as the network between them. My duties also included assisting in the hospital network designs and troubleshooting of their networks. I utilized by knowledge gained from both field experience and earning my Cisco Certified Network Associate and Cisco Certified Design Associate certifications. (CCNA-CCDA)

The Weather Factory provides in-depth weather analysis for the State of Alabama. Its primary presence is the Alabama Weather Blog, which, is more of a Weather Analysis and Warning Distribution System. I am responsible for all coding work done on the site as well as developing new tools for the site.

I've had the privilege of working with clients from Concert Promoters to Weather Personalities to Hospitality Agencies to Advertising Agencies, and some projects I'm not at liberty to discuss in detail. The company's primary principle is to bring value to other companies that in turn wish to bring value to their customers. Clients who are interested only in get-rich-quick schemes or desire to mislead their customers are not offered our services. However, companies that show a desire to bring more value to their clients receive the benefit of a deeply knowledgable technology company that not only understands the technology, but understands business are engaged as partners. Special consideration is given to companies that have a focus on or who themselves are non-profit doing charitable work or who are engaged in making a positive impact to their fellow man (or animal)

In my programming role at Hagen-Wittman, I am responsible for architecting and implementing solutions for clients from start to finish. This includes needs analysis, future planning, database design, systems architecture, programming (both server-side [PHP] and client-side [jQuery/JavaScript]) and some site building and behavior (HTML5 + CSS3)
