Program And Cost Management - Naval Air Systems Command (Navair)
CurrentIn my role as an Integrated Project Management Analyst, US Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), reporting to the NAVAIR Integrated Project Management Department, I work independently within NAVAIR to ensure that Department of Defense (DOD) projects managed by NAVAIR for US Armed Forces are delivered to the Warfighter per requirements within time and budget. The position requires execution of superb management and leadership attributes in relationship management between myself, Prime Defense Contractors, NAVAIR Program Management Activities (PMAs), and the US Department of Defense, requiring expertise in but not limited to Project Management, Finance and Financial Analysis, Software Development Lifecycle, Government Procurement, and understanding of advanced leading edge technology and the critical defense nature of each project. In this role, I act as an independent trusted Advisor to NAVAIR PMAs, establishing and managing relationships with the Prime Defense Contractors and the PMA. I review and analyze monthly cost and schedule submissions from the Prime Defense Contractors using Earned Value Management (EVM) project control processes to determine budget to actual and project schedule execution and determine if the submissions meet DOD EVM requirements, rejecting submissions that do not meet requirements and requesting new submissions with updated data. I report my findings to the PMA with project status (cost and schedule) and recommendations for corrective action when necessary. Furthermore, my responsibilities also include evaluation of the PMA on corrective or other actions that lead to successful completion of the project.
