As the Director of Player Engagement for Michigan State University Football, my mission is to enhance and improve the student-athlete experience of football players at Michigan State University. My focus is to provide our team with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve their personal/professional goals beyond football. We do this by conducting bi-weekly player meetings that ensure student-athletes are developing desirable social & emotional intelligence skills, identifying and exploring career goals, and learning high-level life, time, and money management skills, which propel our student-athletes towards becoming self-reliant. In this role I am responsible for educating, planning, and implementing an effective career readiness programming, serving as a positive peer influence and role model for all football student-athletes, and curating a four-year comprehensive Life Skills development program. This program is intended to ensure that football student-athletes maximize the benefit of being a part of the Michigan State University network which includes over 600,000 living alumni.We believe that the student-athlete experience must include a pathway to leadership in companies, communities, and in our player's homes. Elected during the 2022 General Election to serve the education needs of Lansing, Michigan's ~10,000 public education students. Assists in creating, managing, and executing $300M+ annual budget while ensuring the Lansing School District's Strategic Plan meets the needs of students and educators within the district. About the Board: The Board of Education exists for the purpose of providing a system of free, public education for children in grades K - 12. The Lansing School District is comprised of the area in the description on file in the Board of Education office. The supervision of this District shall be conducted by the Board of Education, hereinafter sometimes referred to as the "Board", which is constituted and is governed by the laws of the State of Michigan. The District shall operate as a General Powers School District. As such it has all of the rights, powers, and duties expressly stated in statute; may exercise a power implied or incident to any power expressly stated in statute; and, except as provided by law, may exercise a power incidental or appropriate to the performance of any function related to the operation of the District in the interests of public elementary and secondary education in the District.
