Assertive hands on approach as executive director has vastly improved organizational dynamics, projects, programs, policies, and strategic operations. Reignited avenues of communication to other organizations to bolster alliances and partnerships that directly and positively affect association member companies. Additional strategic initiatives have enhanced fiscal operations, audit results, database management, operational planning, cybersecurity, HR policies, and multiple other process improvements.

Kurt provided organizational leadership, consulting and training to individuals and organizations around the world. From re-building stagnant organizations, restructuring non-profits, to optimizing current systems and delivering results within scholastic competitive rowing. Kurt delivered the proven strategies and methodologies to improve culture, esprit de corps, and organizational performance across the board.* Invited to interview on Yachting International Radio based in Spain to discuss leadership methodologies and strategies for organizational improvement which was internationally broadcasted;* Provided leadership training to an Australian organization on implementing the CERT Leadership Matrix that I personally developed;* Directly led North American improvements for a foreign technology company and implemented a myriad of process improvements that improved communication, lowered costs, increased performance, and improved customer satisfaction; and* Strategically implemented advanced organizational operations and training methodologies for three competitive rowing clubs. Multiple gold, silver and bronze medals obtained at the state, regional, and national level. Multiple rowers continued to excel as Division I and Division III student athletes.

As a former Surface Warfare Officer, Kurt served in a myriad of assignments. He was qualified in every facet of combatant warships to include: Tactical Action Officer (TAO), Engineering Officer of the Watch (EOOW), and Officer of the Deck (OOD) Underway. Kurt was selected to teach the Basic and Advanced Gas Turbine engineering curriculum at Newport, Rhode Island; and was subsequently designated a Master Training Specialist (MTS) by the Navy.Early in his career, Kurt was selected as a Naval Exchange Officer with the French Navy and was assigned to a French Destroyer in Toulon, France. Later on, he served as Naval Liaison Officer to NORAD – Southeastern Air Defense Sector. He was integrated into a diverse staff comprised of U.S. Air Force, Canadian Air Force, and Canadian Navy members. Kurt received various personal awards from both the Navy and Air Force during his time on active duty namely due to process improvements, strategic planning, demonstrated leadership, and sweeping organizational improvements.A few accomplishments include:• Delivered innovative solutions and saved the U.S. Navy millions of dollars through Lean planning and process improvements;• Developed a robust human capital and leadership restructuring project which induced a complete turn-a-round of a naval warship and management philosophies;• Assertive budget planning trimmed 19% of annual expenses within a Navy Squadron's operating budget. While reallocating these monies, no operational degradation or budget constraints to the Squadron occurred; and• Spearheaded a comprehensive training and curriculum re-write for Shipboard Gas Turbine Engineering and was designated a Master Training Specialist (MTS) by the Department of the Navy for successfully training over 300 naval officers and civilian engineers.
