At Indiana University (PBS WTIU, NPR WFIU) I am responsible for the design, implementation and operation of television control rooms and other production facilities used for High-Definition broadcasts, as well as provide Engineering support services for a wide variety of outside clients. Radio/TV Services oversees the operation of PBS and NPR affiliates as well as the in-house production facilities for Indiana University, Indiana Athletics, as well as smaller studio spaces throughout the university campus. RTVS Engineering also interacts with other departments throughout the university to provide knowledge and support for a wide variety of projects and proposals.While at Radio/TV Services and WTIU/WFIU, I have helped with the installation, operation and repair of countless pieces of video and audio broadcast gear, including studio equipment, EFP packages, and our High-Definition remote production kit. My familiarity with these selections of equipment, as well as my work within the production and master control rooms allow me to have a better knowledge of their capabilities and how they all integrate together to form a cohesive production system. This helps me to better provide solutions and answers to specific problems that can arise.As a member of the Engineering department, I assist in research and decision-making on new devices and hardware used throughout the facility. Serve as Technical Director for RTVS studio and remote productions, including The Weekly Special, Indiana NewsDesk and the Regional Emmy Award winning program: The Friday Zone.Also have worked as the Engineer-In-Charge for remote productions, such as scoreboard video feeds for Indiana Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and also Indiana University streaming broadcasts. In addition, I supervise student employees on a variety of roles, including studio and remote productions as well as Big Ten Network Student U broadcasts on BTN.com

I produced video content for “The American Idol Experience” as well as “Monsters University Homecoming” and “Mulch, Sweat and Shears” live stage shows. Also interacted with Disney Creative as well as “Equity” actors, Stage Managers and Supervisors. Received “Pyro Certification” from ATF Bureau and SteadiCam trained.While there, I was given the chance to work with a wide variety of talent crew members and a vast array of broadcast production gear. I enjoying using this knowledge and these contacts to gain a better understanding of the changing state of production operations, and therefore have a better handle on what new technology is currently being implemented across the globe.
