As Technical Program Manager for Android Automotive one I managed the internal Product definition and development cycles with Engineering and PM team as well as the technical cooperation between Google and key stakeholders across the Automotive Industry (Hyundai, GM, Ford, Audi, Honda and many more, as well as key suppliers like Harman, Elektrobit etc).I joined the Android Automotive team as the first Program Manager and built the Technical Program Management team which launched the Android Automotive integration in 2015 and the Android Automotive OS for Embedded IVI in 2016.

As Developer Advocate I work closely with Google's Android engineering teams as well as external application developers.I see my role as a two way street, helping outside developers to discover new Google technologies and frameworks which allow them to build the best possible applications for their domain.The other side of my role is to act as "the voice of the customer" inside Google. I bring valuable feedback from developers to the engineering organization and help Google to keep building the best platforms for developers.At the moment my focus area is the Google TV platform, and I work closely with developers to create compelling Android Applications which showcase the capabilities of Android "in the family room".

Christian sets the technical direction of the Developer Platforms & Services group in Motorola.This group designs, implements and delivers the tools which are used by 3rd party developers to create applications for Motorola handsets.As part of this role Christian is leading a team which identifies and promotes "Showcase Features" which differentiate Motorola Android handsets from competitors' devices. Christian is also architect for several remote development teams who create the Eclipse based MOTODEV Studio IDE tools suite.Christian was instrumental in creating a cross industry working group in the Eclipse Foundation (the Eclipse Mobile Industry Working Group) which is producing an open source mobile IDE (Pulsar). Members of the Pulsar project include high level representatives from Nokia, Research in Motion, Sony Ericsson and other mobile technology companies.As part of his work Christian has initiated several mobile technology specific open source projects and is currently project lead for the "Mobile Tools for Java" Eclipse project.Past experience spans the area from embedded device development, server backend software to developer tools, ainly in the Unix/POSIX environment, but also conceptually very familiar with other Operating Systems.Christians strength is helping companies to create value by identifying business opportunities at the intersection of Open Source technologies and commercial software development.

Helping to develop Motorola's strategy for its 3rd party Mobile Phone developer tools, create the vision and guide the development of a unified, Eclipse based IDE platform (MOTODEV Studio). Work with the Eclipse Open Source community to create mobile specific projects, currently leading the "Mobile Tools for Java (MTJ)" project and the "Eclipse Mobile Industry Working Group (Pulsar)".

Project lead of the Eclipse Mobile Tools for Java (MTJ) project.Took over leadership of the project in early 2008 and initiated the merger with the EclipseME project, leading to the release of a unified code base by October 2008.Steering Committee member of the "Eclipse Mobile Industry Working Group" in Eclipse.

Architecture and Development of Embedded Java Applications in the Telecom space.Worked with customers to create managed Services for connected home and business networks.Fields of expertise: OSGi, Java, embedded Linux, Open Cable, DSL

Part of the Java Embedded Server Project (JES).Design of prototype software for customers using JES for Home Automation (Echelon).Represented SUN in the OSGi Java Expert Group.

Designed and implemented a small scalable web-server for embedded devices on VxWorks, embedded Linux and QNX.The sourcecode was bought by Windriver Systems in 1999 and became the "WindWeb Server" for VxWorks.As part of this project, I also was leading contributor to the first "Web-Controlled Coffee Maker", a modified Jura Espresso machine. :)
