I was part of the 2020 Humanity in Action Copenhagen Fellowship in which we focused on the unity of the Danish realm and human rights. Further to gaining professional experience and training within the field of human rights, I designed and implemented an action plan in which I set and hosted a panel discussion, in which professionals from the academic, legal, and practical fields gave their insights on modern day activism and activism in a pandemic struck era to the new cohort of HIA Fellows of 2021.

Tethered Up is a consulting firm based in Nairobi, supported by USAID, with a specific focus on aiding innovators in both the public and private sectors, particularly in challenging regions such as northern Kenya, Somalia, and Sudan. During my tenure with the organization, I played a key role in providing targeted assistance to entrepreneurs, ensuring a cohesive approach that significantly impacted their success. Engaging with entities in complex environments over an extended period, I collaborated closely with partners, paying meticulous attention to both the potential and challenges faced by these individuals.Distinguishing itself as one of the few organizations operating in post-conflict and intricate settings with a social impact focus, Tethered Up enlisted my expertise in designing a cross-strategy project for Kenya and Somalia in collaboration with the American NGO Pact. This involved establishing effective communication and project strategies to ensure seamless execution. Additionally, I contributed to formulating a strategy to mobilize philanthropic resources for a dynamic university in Mogadishu, established by a motivated returning diaspora.Beyond project-specific contributions, I played a pivotal role in organizing Tethered Up's internal files and implementing a system for regular maintenance, facilitating efficient internal and external communication.
