- Main responsibility during the internship was to run the HAPI-FHIR server, an open-source software framework used for developing FHIR-compliant applications.- Gained a deep understanding of the server architecture and its components, including the storage layer, query engine, and RESTful API.- Developed an abstraction layer to facilitate the transfer of data in the FHIR standard.- Designed a set of interfaces and methods that encapsulated the complexity of the FHIR data model and provided a simplified, more intuitive interface for developers to use.- Abstraction layer was designed to be modular and extensible, allowing for easy customization and integration with other software systems.- Worked closely with a team of experienced developers and project managers throughout the internship.- Received guidance and feedback regularly from the team.- Participated in regular code reviews and collaborated with other members of the team to ensure code consistency with best practices and project goals.- Gained a comprehensive understanding of the HAPI-FHIR server and its capabilities by the end of the internship.- Developed practical experience in designing and implementing a software abstraction layer.- Honed skills in software development, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
