I am Kussai Alrini, a civil engineering professional dedicated to advancing sustainable urban development. Holding a Master’s in Civil Engineering, specializing in Pavement Materials. My academic journey has been marked by deep involvement in innovative research aimed at enhancing infrastructure sustainability. Notably, my projects have explored the potential of recycled plastic in asphalt roads and the application of nanoparticles to improve asphalt properties. My work has been recognized and shared in academic circles, highlighting my commitment to developing practical, environmentally friendly solutions for urban planning.Recently, I embarked on a new challenge by joining the University of Bologna as a PhD student and Research Fellow. In this role, I am part of the GreeNexUS Project, specifically focusing on the Sustainable Bio-pavements for Low-emitting Urban Surfaces project. This initiative seeks to revolutionize urban paving with eco-friendly materials, significantly reducing environmental impact. My role allows me to apply my skills in a dynamic environment, pushing the boundaries of traditional pavement technology to create smarter, greener urban spaces.
