Lastly, facilitators use focused reflection after each activity requiring communication and group problem solving skills to tie the activity just completed to their real world experiences. Staffers pose questions to the group and let them find these connections on their own so that the group may emerge form the experience closer and more cohesive.

While working for this private job firm I developed my own contacts, personally called and scheduled appointments with each prospective customer, and then went to the customer’s home and did at-home presentations of Cutco’s kitchen cutlery. At the end of the presentation, I pitched them different packaged prices, and tried to give them the best price for as much product as possible. In three months of part time work, I personally sold over $3,500 in kitchen cutlery.

As a party host I greeted my assigned parties, showed them to their room, explained party room regulations, took food orders, served food and beverages, explained their bill, and kept the party room clean before and after occupation. I also helped with anything additional requested by the party. Once promoted, I was in charge of overseeing the performance of party hosts, checking sanitation of party rooms, paid out the hosts and gave them their tips after their shift. I was in charge of checking in parties, keeping their tab updated, printing their bills, and making sure they paid before evacuating their room. If any minor complaints or issues surfaced then I would handle those as well.
