Director of Government Programs and Enterprise Mobility. While this was primarily a sales engineering job with a program management function, this was a unique role at NEC ECT reporting directly to the CEO. The job was to resolve challenges internally and externally associated with a strategic shift from small/medium business to large enterprise customers. Selected Accomplishments- Direct report to the CEO for special projects and sales engagement in order to improve the sales closure rate and target strategic accounts. Success led to establishment of new business unit. - Led the 20 person team in developing, certifying and delivering the first fully encrypted and certified enterprise mobile communication solution for the United States Department of Defense.- NEC Consultant for architecting a strategic partner's mobile infrastructure.

Oversees product development teams to align coding efforts with the NEC value proposition. Overhauling the Request for Proposal system, transitioning from the ad-hoc crisis mode to a standardized resource in order to better enable the international sales teams. Selected Acccomplishments- Led the team developing our secure mobility feature set. This included the transition to an Agile development model. - Took over government certification programs- Led development teams focused on security enhancements to NEC software

Involved in almost every facet of implementing NEC’s software based unified communications solution. Coordinates the cross-functional management and marketing teams to develop sales strategies for international and domestic markets. Selected Accomplishments• Distributed management – In 150 days; created new systems, received global buy-in for implementation, and executed processes that shifted much of the manual labour of UNIVERGE 3C feature request management to the 4 management teams stationed around the globe.

Assembled and lead dozens of cross-functional teams composed of individuals representing a diversity of interests, experience, skills and seniority levels. Directed the teams in tackling multiple projects for 1-2 week periods, from department to C-level. Generated and assigned tasks, tracked results, and rewarded individuals for their contributions. Devised and implemented plans to effectively turnover projects lasting longer than the two-week period, shepherding year long projects across multiple teams. This role, initially a personal initiative, was formalized by organizational leadership based on a demonstrated ability to take amorphous problems, identify key issues, create solutions, generate a work force and collaborate to rapidly deliver results. Selected Accomplishments• Senior Project Manager: major organizational merger – Oversaw the restructuring of 1200 people spanning 33 organizations in adapting to a new strategic objective. Primary advisor to the command element for the design and implementation of the new organization including execution of all personnel moves in accordance with Navy HR policy. • Continuity of Operations – Developed the roadmap for system continuity of the largest continental Naval Command. Identified critical systems, weaknesses, and vulnerabilities during major ecological crises. Analyzed requirements and proposed viable and sustainable solutions. • Filling the Void – During the Haiti Relief Effort, preemptively identified an imminent threat to operations center communications as a result of 3rd party contractual issues. Acting autonomously, forged personal relationships with 3rd party stakeholders and learned their complex communications system. With full support of supervisors, assumed oversight of in-house staff and processes to ensure long-term viability of relationship with 3rd party organization.

As the Knowledge Management Officer, developed and implemented a unique SharePoint environment to suit the needs of a Maritime Operations Center. Created a learning culture around the system and developed sustainable processes to rapidly train and incorporate new personnel. Selected Accomplishments• Change management – Brought the Maritime Operations Center from information sharing via desktop and outlook to full utilization of SharePoint as the primary communication node for all operational information in less than 2 years. • SharePoint Architect – Created an innovative structure and intuitive processes for SharePoint to allow faster collaboration and instant archiving for operations such as the Haiti Relief Effort, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. • Finance database – Created a database system and associated processes, via linkage of SharePoint and Access, to track over $10 million in previously dark funding in order to give the organization an ability to prioritize manpower expenditures effectively. • IT Consultant – Brought into IT related project discussions to give realistic assessments on feasibility including: will the project add value, will it be implementable given the pace and flow of work, and will stakeholders be willing to participate given the effort involved to execute.

(Senior Analyst Equivalent)Methodical and thorough in the research and execution of both strategic ballistic missile system execution and the development of a tactical training and assessment program.• Detail Oriented – Analyzed mountains of procedures and documents, over 50,000 pages in 6 months, to distill the core tasks a submarine and its crew would have to demonstrate in order to display tactical proficiency. Drafted those into a first of its kind training system now used in every United States Submarine around the world.

Nuclear Submarine Officers undergo a 2-year postgraduate education in advanced theoretical concepts related to nuclear power generation. The training also instills a bone deep understanding of process and management that could be equated to PMP + Black Belt Six Sigma in order to lead a team of 18-40 year olds operating a nuclear reactor by the age of 23. SHIPYARD ENGINEERING DUTY OFFICER (Senior Project Manager Equivalent)• Early Leadership – Managed the 60 personnel operating all mechanical systems onboard (hydraulics, compressed air, steam, engine, etc.) in the month-long turnover of systems to the shipyard contractors and during the decennial overhaul of all mechanical systems that allow a submarine to operate. Included oversight of training, administration, and all other duties associated with running a division responsible for over $100million dollars in equipment.SUBMARINE OFFICER OF THE DECK (Industrial Plant Manager Equivalent)• Calm under pressure – Selected by the Commanding Officer to be in charge during dangerous and unexpected situations such as: going outside to navigate the ship safely when all tactical and navigation systems shut down for 4+ hours in the Arctic Circle, keeping the ship safe and on schedule.

(C-Level Business Manager Equivalent)Coordinated with organizations, military and government, around the world to support distinguished visitors to Middle Eastern countries. Took initiative to establish personal relationships with key logistical nodes in theater and coordinated directly with visiting C-level dignitaries and other VIPs to ensure their customer service needs were met without exception. • Crisis Management Expert – Adapted to all perturbations of schedule and weather to ensure VIPs remained happy and receptive to the Commander’s message. This required foresight and planning of contingency options and almost always necessitated the leveraging of personal relationships established and maintained before they were needed.
