I write software requirements that provides the control logic for large tractor transmissions.

I work with various three dimensional software packages to make multi-body simulations of John Deere engines in order to predict vibration and fatigue in components on our engines.

This is rotation program within the Waterloo Area.My first rotation was in the FOCUS (Family of Controls Universal Systems) Software Continuous Improvement. My job was to work with software on production and post-production machines, and make updates when appropriate. Additionally, I was called upon by dealers, service centers, and other Deere engineers to answer questions related to software logic.My second rotation was with the Performance Analysis group, where I worked on making one dimensional models using GT-Suite of our coolant, lube, and fuel systems. In the role, I had opportunities to provide data to key managers in order to facilitate data driven decisions on physical components before physical testing was possible.My third and final rotation was in Performance Verification & Validation. This experience was primarily in the test cell environment, where I was acting as a project manager for testing in various cells. I had the opportunity to interact in a union environment and proved direction to test cell operators.
