I helped build a strong and healthy residential learning community in my dorm that complemented and extended classroom learning. Together with a full team of fellows and students, we enhanced student academic progress and success by promoting the intellectual life of the residence, creating opportunities for students to explore and clarify their interests, values, and attitudes. We assisted in building inclusive and reflective environments in which differences of background and belief were encouraged and explored. I also provided personal and academic counseling and referral, participated in house activities, understood and explained University policies, and was available to students and encouraged them in their endeavors.
