Working in Risk, Compliance, Safety and Accreditation has opened doors and to be an influential voice for patients and caregivers has been exciting! I am passionate about relationships and having a solid connection between patients, providers and caregivers is a key component when building trusting relationships in the medical field. I am ready to jump into operations and expand my experience as a leader in healthcare. The patient experience and overall patient satisfaction have always been the essential component of my work in the healthcare field. To know we have touched and had a positive impact on the patient is my driving force on this career path. Key initiatives I have been heavily involved in are equality for patient care, ensuring all patients are treated equally in a non-discriminatory manner to include patient with apparent and non-apparent disabilities. We are called to be compassionate and respectful.Other areas of work involve ensuring we are following regulatory requirement to meet CMS,OIG,CDC,TJC, CAP, State(DOH) and OSHA.Patient safety is my passion! To equip our caregivers with the necessary knowledge, policies, procedures, workflows and protocols to do their job in the appropriate manner are critical in the clinical environment. This not only includes job performance but safety on all levels. Workplace violence is on the forefront in the days of opioid mis-management, crisis prevention and suicide prevention amongst our population. Caregivers need to know how to respond! I have been intricate in developing tools and guidance for frontline for response to help protect them from harm.
