• Created an unbiased rating system to quantify trainer performance, and a complementary internal service to ensure the system’s ease-of-use by non-technical team members.• Performed detailed statistical analysis of user data, their behavior and sentiment, including NLP analysis of users’ comments.• Built a machine learning model to predict subscription cancellation amongst users and identified important clusters of low- and high-performing users.• Created a new recommender system for the application by building multiple algorithms, optimizing memory and computational time, and tying the system to the application’s backend.• Developed a signal-analyzing algorithm for a new handheld device by implementing robust real-time analysis of accelerometer and gyroscope signals.• Created an ETL pipeline.

In Zelevinsky Lab I worked as a member of CENTREX (Cold Molecule Nuclear Time Reversal Experiment) which is a collaboration between Yale, Columbia, and University of Massachusetts. The experiment aims to achieve the highest sensitivity to the nuclear Schiff moment arising from a slight charge asymmetry in the nucleus, using diatomic polar molecules. An observation of this asymmetry would strongly point to new time-reversal symmetry violating particles beyond the Standard Model. I was focusing on the optical systems and quantum manipulations of the molecules. As the graduate student researcher I:• Designed and wrote hardware control software with multithreading and custom graphical user interface in Python that led to easy and streamlined experimental control. It included extracting experimental data and analyzing it in real time.• Performed Monte Carlo simulations and optimization of our experiment using MATLAB to find an efficient design of one of the components. It will increase measured signal by a factor of 20.• Created a mathematical model of a novel molecule cooling process using continuous-time Markov chain, and performed Monte Carlo simulations of this model. The proposal opens a new frontier in the field of laser cooling.• Performed numerical simulations and built mathematical models of a quantum system. It included building a software package in MATLAB allowing my group and collaborators to easily set up and solve necessary equations.• Built and designed frequency quadrupling laser systems together with supporting electronics. This home-built system allowed us to cut the cost of the experiment without sacrificing any functionality.• Analyzed spectroscopic time-series data that led to confirmation of a new quantum state manipulation procedure that is now used in the experiment.• Gave an invited talk at Gordon’s Research Conference attended by hundreds of top scientists in the field.

I worked on a project concentrated on stiffness mapping of neurites in MPP+ treated PC12 cells using atomic-force microscopy. The project tried to understand underlying causes of Parkinson's disease and determine whether or not MPP+ toxicity might lead to axonal degeneration. While working in the lab I:• Mapped stiffness of neurites in toxin-treated cells using atomic-force microscopy to observe neuronal degeneration seen also in Parkinson’s disease.• Wrote image analysis software in Python. Using two images, one with high contrast and one with small signal-to-noise ratio (stiffness map), I was able to automatically create graphs depicting stiffness along observed neurons, which in general are not ideal linear structures.
