Dr. Kwesi Craig C. Brookins has over 30 years of experience conducting basic and evaluation research, developing interventions and providing technical assistance to a wide range of community and government programs and agencies. His research is broadly focused on health promotion and the development of healthy adults, youth and communities. He has worked with diverse communities across the Triangle area and state of North Carolina as well as both nationally and internationally. His research has produced numerous articles, technical reports and presentations including invited talks to a variety of public and private institutions. Dr. Brookins is Director of the Center for Family and Community Engagement at NC State and a Professor in the Applied Social and Community Psychology Program and the interdisciplinary Africana Studies program which he Founded in 1997. He received his undergraduate degree from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois and his M.S. and Ph.D. from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan where he specialized in Ecological/Community Psychology.
