Director of Revenue Cycle Services at UHCC is responsible for directing and planning the activities and resources associated with the Revenue Cycle processes from Centralized Scheduling / Registration through billing and collections for UHCC hospital services and the UHCC employed physician enterprise.

Directed and coordinated all UMMS Physician Healthcare System CBO functions and activities. UMMS Professional / Physician CBO are comprised of eight acute care facilities (Baltimore Washington Medical Center, University Maryland Midtown Campus, Memorial Hospital Easton, Dorchester General, Chester River Medical Center, Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Harford Memorial Hospital, and Charles Regional Medical Center). Led and managed the implementation of the EPIC EMR and revenue cycle software in all UMMS owned hospitals and private practices. The system wide standardization of revenue cycle polices / procedures and transition of all presently outsourced revenue cycle service to the UMMS CBO. Major accomplishments include the development of system wide standardized billing and collection polices / procedures, vendors utilized and reporting. Successful phased implementation of the EPIC EMR, Cadence, Prelude and Resolute modules across service area practices. Developed and implemented across UMMS Physician Enterprise system

Directed and coordinated all Revenue Cycle functions and activities through three Directors and six managers. Areas of responsibility are the complete MGH Hospital and Professional Billing Revenue Cycles from Scheduling, to Admitting / Registration through Patient Accounting and Collections. Major accomplishments include the successful implementation of major process and technology improvements, which have resulted in increased overall revenue cycle efficiencies, significant reductions in GDRO, bad debts, and overall cost to collect.

Directed all centralized financial functions of Healthcare System through four Directors and eight Managers. DHS is comprised of four acute care facilities (Prince Georges Hospital Center, Laurel Regional Hospital, Bowie Health Center, and the Dimension Surgery Center) and two long-term care facilities (Gladys Spellman Specialty Hospital and Nursing Center, Larkin Chase Nursing and Restorative Center). Areas managed include Access Management, Transportation, Communications, Financial Services, Case Management, Revenue Control, Internal Audit, Budget, Cash Management/Accounting, Medical Records and Eligibility Services. Major accomplishments were successful implementation of reengineered centralized financial structure which improved overall efficiency, standardization of form and function, while reducing costs, FTEs and not compromising financial performance, quality of care and customer satisfaction.

More than seven years of progressive management experience and the expansion of the manager position to that of Director of Financial Services, areas managed were Admitting, Registration, Transportation, Communications, Patient Accounts, Revenue Control, Internal Audit, Cash Management Accounting, Eligibility Services and Professional Billing. Major accomplishments were reduction of AR days from over 100 to 49 while reducing bad debts, doubling monthly cash flow and increasing reserves. Developed effective Hill-Burton program and retired seven million dollar obligation.
