About Kevin Wiens
As a consultant I bring with me boundless enthusiasm for renewable energy developments including solar, wind, hydro, storage and bio-fuel. In particular I am proud to have provided technical assistance to indigenous and other groups during the funding, development and EPC phases of grid connected solar facilities. I have been responsible for ensuring my clients understand the technical and regulatory aspects of developing and operating solar facilities as well as developing the FEED document; regulatory applications; and the Request for Purchase process to choose EPC vendors. During the EPC phase I have performed the technical and contract compliance reviews. I have similar experience with wind, hydro, storage and bio-fuel as well as operational and regulatory experience with these technologies.My background also encompasses the development of AESO rules and reliability standards that detailed the connection and operational requirements for renewable generating facilities in Alberta.In addition I have experience in design, start-up, operations and maintenance of generation facilities, medium and high voltage power systems, substations, utility interconnections and associated protection and control systems. This work has included both domestic and overseas projects in various industries including oil and gas, pulp and paper, transportation and utility sectors. I have also acted as the project manager for both technical studies and facility development. The above has involved working within team environments and with stakeholders to ensure the stated goals are achieved and all involved realize a high level of satisfaction. This maintains strong relationships and ultimately allows for a smoother path to achieve future objectives.Pacific Power Systems was founded in 1998 to provide consulting services for electrical systems to clients in diverse industries.
