I applied the skills from my sociology degree to study employment-related geographic mobility in youth. My function was to recruit participants, facilitate focus groups, collect and help interpret raw data, codifying data, and identify emergent themes.

Duties included policy analysis, drafting, and evaluation, including all recreation, outreach, services, shelter policies, and assisted staff in outreach capacities. I also drafted and facilitated an all-staff training replete with internal evaluation tools and in-session Think Tank. Assisted staff during Walk-In hours. Placement provided through the Community Sector Council SWASP program.

Ky retained their seat on the Board of Directors for two concurrent terms. Ky helped bring St. John's Pride from a small-town Pride with less than 1,000 annual attendees in 2012 to a growing Pride of almost 2,000 attendees and street-onlookers for the first time for Parade and March in 2014 and again in 2015.
