- Obtained 1400+ hours of supervised practice in clinical, community, and foodservice management settings. Selected the public health track to obtain experience in a variety of community settings in addition to standard clinical and management experiences. Highlights of this internship include- Saint Louis University Hospital – Provided medical nutrition therapy (MNT) to patients with diabetes (September 2011), cardiovascular disease (October 2011), and hepatobiliary conditions (May 2011). - Barnes-Jewish Hospital – Provided MNT to patients following gastrointestinal surgery resulting in altered diets, including gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, fundoplication, and colostomy (October-November 2011).- Peoples Health Centers WIC – Enrolled and provided MNT to pregnant and post-partum women and their children; performed staff relief (January-February and May 2012).- Missouri Baptist Hospital – Provided MNT to patients receiving treatment for cancer under Board Certified Specialist in Oncology Nutrition in both inpatient and outpatient settings (February 2012).- Center for Advanced Medicine, office of Doctors Berk, Daniels, and Skor – Provided nutrition education for weight loss and for controlling diabetes with and without insulin (March 2012). - Mercy Continuing Care Hospital – Assessed nutrition status of long-term acute care patients, including those with ventilator dependency and undergoing wound care, and performed enteral and parenteral feeding calculations (April 2012).

- Advertised study and recruited participants to research effect of carnitine supplement on sickle cell anemia. - Collected diet recall records and anthropometric measures including skinfold measurements with calipers from study participants.

- Conducted 24-hour dietary recalls using the Nutrition Data System for Research software and collected Block food frequency questionnaires as part of St. Jude Life, the long-term follow-up research studying adult survivors of childhood cancer who received treatment at St. Jude.- Recruited adult survivors of childhood cancer to participate in long-term follow-up studies at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Childhood Cancer Survivorship Study, headquartered at St. Jude.- Completed nutrition and health surveys for long-term follow-up studies with childhood cancer survivors and their siblings, and entered data into research database.
