I caught the programming bug...I've played video games for as long as they can remember, so it's only natural that as I grew older I became more and more interested in not only the "what" of video games, but also the "how". The magic of being able to make what you envision in your head come to life on the screen in front of you is the same as the feeling I used to get loading up games like Skyrim for the first time - the feeling that anything is possible!As someone who went to university to study psychology, I didn't quite know what I was getting myself into when I loaded up that first "Welcome to C++" video, but I'm glad that I did. I found that programming is not only a great way to express creativity, and believe me I've written some very "creative" code in the past, but also provides enough of a challenge that I never get bored. Not to mention that there's always something new to learn. It quickly becomes very apparent that the more you learn. the more you realise just how little you know and how deep the world of software development really is!My main interest now lies in game engine development. Inspired by commercial game engines such as Unreal Engine and Unity, I've begun developing my own game engine called Apostle. The idea of being able to create a tool that people can use to make their dream game is something that I would love to be able to say that I've accomplished some day!
